Column mounted ignition switch shear bolt /anti-tamper screw

Has anyone found a source for the anti-tamper screws / shear bolts used to attach the ignition switch to the steering colums on late elans, plus2s & Europas?
I found a Land Rover Part on eBay in the UK, looks the same (same head size, thread OD & length), but after ordering it found that it does not fit The thread pitch is very slightly different....
The fastener is the type where the hex head section breaks off when the fastener is torqued.
Paul Matty & RD Enterprises sell a switch assembly with new shear bolts & keys, I just need the 2 shear bolts!

Hi
I had problems with these bolts mainly because during the rebuild I sheared one off when trial fitting the ignition switch. I decided to make up some which will not shear off and I have attached a sketch. These fit my switch fine. The switch I have is a WASO coded 394150. I am not convinced by the security afforded by shear off bolts as gross force can easily wrench off the barrel and pull back the column lock.
Hope this helps
best of luck
Bob

I have just replaced mine - it was the same as the land-rover one!!
I can dig up the oldies and measure the thread on the weekend.
I do suggest that you don't snap off the head - or use a standard bolt- instead as it is a PITA to get the lock off if there is a problem (experience talking)

I can measure my old one, but I am sure it will be 5/16 UNC per Bob's Sketch (thanks Bob!)
Did you replace the whole lock, or just the shear bolts? If the latter where did you get the new bolts?
I found it relatively easy to remove the old bolts, just drill a hole in the screw & then use an easy-out, there's little torque required to loosen the old screws.
