Re: S4 vacuum headlight switch, failsafe

I realize that this thread is a few years old, but for what it is worth, I have had the same problem with leaking in the switch on my S2, non-failsafe. I tried using some mid-size plastic tie wraps, and after assembling the switch wrapped one at the front and one at the back, and put as much tension on them as I could. I believe it holds well, but certainly doesn't solve the problem you may have with leaking at the rubber pad. I find I have to remove this switch twice a year and revisit the rubber, spring and add some rubber grease. After that, I am good for months. At least reopening the switch just means clipping off the tie wraps, nothing easier.
