Otter switch

Going on 7 years, and the Volvo grommet that I installed to hold the Otter is still doing its job! Simple, cheap, and looks exactly stock. I assume they're still available.

I used to own an old SE5 Scimitar, it had a neat little metal clip on it's radiator to hold the Otter switch in.

Resurrecting an old thread to say that the Volvo rubber grommet part is still available and a good, tight fit.

A little job I did today was to press fit the Volvo grommet into the rad and then ease in the Otter switch. It took some careful muscle but got in there, without any silicone (or Vaseline!). Then security wired it in, just to be on the safe side.

I obtained the rubber grommet from PFS Parts Ltd. It is their part no. 1378869. Here's the link: https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/pr ... f546096aca

My Otter switch has a May 1976 date on it, so still doing sterling service.
