Electronic ignition (Tacho issues) Lucas CE constant energy

I didn't want to hijack the 'Installing Electronic ignition' thread, but this is related to that same subject. I had read the OEM tacho would not work with the 'low current, voltage' signal from the electronic ignition sensing circuit, as opposed to the stronger 'current' produced by points operating.
To my surprise the tachometer worked, but only for a while before giving up. I was wondering if any of the electroninc ignition installs had a similar issue and the best way to fix. I did have the Tacho refurbished before instaling, however it is possible it has failed.

Is there anyone in the US that performs the RVC to RVI conversion ?
