Car is due for its 6 month checkand a few things needed looking into
1 It started missing when warm and after a 5 km run if left for 1/2 hour would not start,
2 The indicator switch started to give of some smoke when ign turned on and would only work on rh side with lh lights on but not flashing.

Last night Replaced the coil and moved to a different position where it is now vertical and not horizontal and removed steering column and replaced the top bush and indicator switch.Found front of nose to be filled with water as drain hole had blocked and been outside for a few weeks, so started car and moved out, cleared drain hole and put car back in garage, tried indicators both sides staying on not flashing-gave up for the night

Tonight checked for earth on rear light and found earth had come loose replaced terminals and tried indicators -lh blinked and rh did not.Double checked earth and all other lights work.Tried again and ign light went out .To reset ign light have to remove no4 fuze which supplies the volt stab and ind circuit. As soon as I try ind switch ign light goes out and car will not start. Can anyone help with ideas please car is 2s130

Thanks Graham :( :(

Hi Graham,

Just an idea but I had a problem with the indicators and ignition light, also some of the gauges:

Turned out to be one of the fuses needed cleaning up, I replaced them eventually, even though they looked ok

Worth a try?

Hi Graham

going on two key statements U made (1) smoke from indicator switch and (2) ignition light dimming on one side indicators selected. These 2 things suggest a short or low resistance path in the wiring and or lamp. check that corrosion has not got in the indicator(s) lamp. If your +2S130 is like mine (only fuses are 4 fuses in the dashboard) then the fuse in the dash nearest to driver feeds a lot of circuits including the indicator and typically is 20A (not sure what it should be). A corroded lamp may not draw more than 20A and so not blow the fuse.

Hope this helps best of luck
