Anyone recognise this?

Like the title says, does anyone recognise this brand of air-horn compressor?

I've been wondering how to lubricate it and until I took these pictures couldn't see anywhere to put the oil in, it looks like there is a hole in the side which I'm presuming is the lubrication hole but if anyone can confirm this I'd be grateful.

It's not the original Maserati type - it looks like one of the modern replacements of dubious origin :?

The original type has an oil plug in the top which basically communicates with the same hole the compressor draws it's air in from.

My suggestion is to put some oil into the inlet hole while running the compressor and that should pull it though into the vanes.

I'm just about to order a new set from Durite. It's a shame as my Maserati compressor and the short horn are both fine, just the longer horn has a dicky diaphragm and you can't seem to buy a single replacement trumpet.

Jon,
Before you buy a new set...have you tried adjusting the horn which is not working ? Try screwing the trumpet in or out a bit. The large hex nut locks it after it's adjusted. Worked for me.

Robbie,
No idea what make that compressor is but I agree with Jon's advice.
I came across this pic of one that looks same that someone has fitted to an MX5 - maybe it's a Mazda accessory.

Thanks guys, I'll try oiling in the hole.

Roger - that looks about the same to me, where did you find the pic?

Robbie

Edit; I think I've found it:

Although looking photo's the hole doesn't now look like a lubrication hole. I'll have to take it off and have a good look over it.

Cheers

Robbie
