Hi

Does anyone know of an Alternate Parts book / Listing for the +2 Elans ??
I have just bought a + 2 and obviously the car is made basically from a great Chassis, Engine & Body form Lotus then an assortment of bits from other cars (internal door handles Marina ?)
What about Calipers, Stearing Rack, Servo, Etc ETc is there a list availiable for what they came from ?
If its not available then I may be willing to make one up for everyone if information is forth coming from members ! (I did this for Reliant Scimitars many years ago)

Alos anyone interested in a 'Elan' Rally to Southern Ireland ?? I own a B&B in Kenmare County Kerry and there is a great deal of classic car rallies in this are each summer but I have yet to see any Elans here !!
If there is interest I am willing to put in come ground work on routes, local attractions, Ferry Prices, Local routes and some photo's of fantastic roads for your enjoyment in the Elans, accomodation available (yes it would include mine biut theats not what this is about !)

There is apparently only 1 other +2 in my area and its now up for sale !!I'm lonely over here so lets get together and drink some Guinness

Let me know what you think ??

Peter,

The book 'Authentic Lotus Elan & Plus 2' by Paul Robinshaw and Christopher Ross is a good source detailing where many of the parts for both cars came from. The earlier first edition was written for the Elan only although many parts are common to both cars. I believe the book is not available anymore and prices are high on the second hand market. It is a useful and enjoyable read particularly the second edition (green cover, first edition yellow) and well worth finding.

Why reinvent the wheel! the Robinshaw and Ross book is more or less definitive and still available secondhand.
