H1 headlamp

Having just gotten the vacuum headlight pods working, I need to replace one of the low beam lamps, which is a Halogen replacement bulb. I started looking for one and got pretty confused with the large array available. I kind of assumed that I could just get a replacement H1 12v 55watt bulb and it would fit. Is this correct? Any recommendations? Thanks.

If it is halogen, I don't think it can be original headlamp (they were not invented back then (?)), so you will need to get the old bulb out & match it up to find a replacement.

Remember do not put bare fingers on a halogen lamp, the grease in your fingers will cause the lamp to fail early. I usually wear surgical type gloves when handling halogen bulbs.

The regular halogen bulbs are H4 that contain main and dipped beam filaments. If you have lamps that take two H1 bulbs, then you have reflector units that are very, very, very sought after.

See if you can match your existing bulb up with what's on this site: http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffybulbs.htm

Thanks everyone. I DO have the headlights that take 2 h1 bulbs and I found the packaging for the last one that I installed, so I should be able to match that.

H1 bulb at Napa $7.00 works perfectly.
