Happy new year, all....
Is there any reason I can't install the headlamp bulb et al AFTER I install the shells? It seams like a nightmare to do it otherwise.

You should be able to... they're the same as your TR6'S..... I think


Back shell attaches to headlight pod, then reflector and bulb (or sealed beam) is held in by screwed on ring then headlamp chrome ring pushes on after that.
