S1 number plate light

There is no dash lamp at all on some of the cars in the original road test reports.

So, to answer JK's original question, take the lamp off the dash and fit it above the number plate and you're sorted :)

Tx all. It's the one in Mark's photo I need, ties in with all the literature I have ever seen.
Have considered using an interior version, but of course it will fill with water (as I suspect ould the original!).
IF anyone comes across one, please let me know!!

I've managed to buy two recently, just the same as Mark's. I've never seen one on UK ebay in a year of looking (although I suppose I could have missed it in between all the wipers and spark plugs). You can remake them - basically its the MGB item without the switch, all you need is to be handy with metalwork! JK - ygm.
