alternative engine for a plus 2

Jon,

The cvh was rwd in the sierra. It doesnt need converting unless you have a fwd version.

The one I used was a 1.8 it was running a manifold for twin 40's all ready and had the factory electronic ignition. This I have been told will work well on a zetec running carbs, worth a thought. Although it came with the 5speed im sure the lotus 4 will fit.

After fitting it im thinking of putting one in my spare plus 2.

Internet says 91bhp. I think with a bit of work it could be around big valve bhp but with more torque across a much wider rev range.

You are correct that it replaced the Pinto engine later in the Sierra.

When I did mine it was only used in FWD, the drawing is from the people who did the work to make it fit in the Morgan.

I see now. No offence meant. Sounds as pioneering as a zetec or duratec for its time.
looking at the CVH head and the twink, it does look like they share some DNA. Very similar.
