Installing Alternator

I will be installing an alternator in my Elan S1 race car, can anyone provide me with a circuit diagram and details showing such an installation

convert your tach to neg ground or ad a neg ground one if you are running a pos ground system ---- and fabricate a higher alternator mount to clear the steering column if you have left hand drive ----- and reverse the cables on the battery-to neg ground ----- thats all I did --- ed law
dont close your eyes --you will miss the crash

Don't you have to alter the connection on your coil to make the spark jump the right way?

Hi,

When I did mine, I used a combination from the Lotus Manual. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact detail. Roy at Paul Matteys was very helpful.

What I do do that was very effective was to use an old control box with the insides removed for my connections. I have no extra wires and the car looks more original when you look under the bonnet.
My car is a 1969 +2S.

yes :blink: change the polarity on the coil-leads-so neg goes to the points ----ed
