Wiper switch - electric conversion.

Ian,
There are some two speed versions of the wiper switch from (I think) a Cortina so this can be used if you're going to fit a two speed motor. I remove the old plunger washer pump and fit a micro switch in it's place to make the washers electric.
Sorry have no pics.
Cheers

Hi,
My car (an early +2) has a different variation on the wiper switch for which I have seen no reference. It is the early two speed switch, fitted to the right of the radio, but has no manual water pump as in workshop manual. Rather it has a switch built in the rear to operate an electric washer pump. This is not a modification but was manufactured in that fashion.
Even more strange, when I brought the car, the washer switch had been disconnected and a cheap spring return switch fitted. I replaced the cheap switch with a Lucas one to match the other ones ('cos I already had a hole in the dashboard) and wired the original washer switch to act as a single wipe.
