Indicator Repeater Light wiring routing

Hi All
My 69S4SE did not have the repeater lights fitted when I bought it smashed. Mick Miller had put on some flaired (horrible in my opinion) wheel arches and done away with them
My question is how should the cable from the light be routed to the front.
Option 1 straight across from the wing, through the innner wing and along the top edge
Option 2 down the outside of the inner wing and through somewhere forward
I'm trying to be as origional as possible so would wecome a response from data from an origional vehicle
As always thanks in advance

Hi Dave & Jaks
On my 71 Sprint the wiring from the side repeater (twin flex) passes through a P clip which is attached to the rear of the inner wing (footwell) and then through the inner wing via a grommet. The wiring then passes down to the appropriate indicator connection.
Hope that helps
