ambient temp gauge

PostPost by: jhonnyrockets » Sun Jul 27, 2008 5:50 pm

I have a beautiful but broken temp gauge for my s130.
And I can't find anyone who will repair mine. Does anyone know who can repair my gauge? It slowly went south, so I think it needs a recharge (its mechanical). any help? my email is [email protected]

thanks

Search the web for instructions on how to fix your gauge yourself.

The ether has probably leaked out but it is easy to replace the entire bulb/line/ether charge if you can handle a soldering iron.

New gauges (with new bulb/line/ether) are available for like $10 from Pep Boys and others. You use your gauge face and movement so everything looks unchanged. Mine has worked OK for a few years.

are you sure I can do this?
Because all of the repair places seem to tell me there is something different about this gauge, that they don't have the tech to fix it.
They can fix all other bulbs but not this one. I can handle a soldiring iron but there replies make me apprehnsive to tackle.

Let me know how this works out for you. I have the same issue with my 72 +2. I checked the Pep Boys site but found no reference to an ambient temp gauge. Mine appears to have leaked at the bulb joint.
