Stuck in First Gear

Good morning from the US.
Took the racecar out for a shakedown last Friday. New gearset in the case, Quaife Dog box. On lap 4 the shift lever stuck in first gear. We could not budge the gear lever.
Pulled motor on Sunday. Removed the top cover and all looked fine. Removed the three springs but left the balls in place and tried moving the 1st/2nd rail. Action was smooth. No problem getting gears and same for 3/4 and reverse.
We pulled 1st/2nd rail and 3rd/4th and could see nothing that would indicate a problem. The balls were smooth.
Reassembled and reinstalled in the car. All seems well, although that was the case last week as well.
Any one have any suggestions of what might have caused the locking of the gearbox in 1st.

Have you got the interlock pins installed correctly and moving smoothly ? something appears to be binding up as the box heats up.
cheers

Rohan,
We do believe the interlock pins are in correctly. That was one of the concerns when the gearbox locked up.
I'm supposed to be racing next weekend. I will let you know whether we run into the same problem.
Thanks for the reply.
