I recently purchased a lower plate from here in the UK. A little cheaper than the usual places.

If you include vat and their ridiculously expensive postage you are far better using stage1, who also sell them on ebay. They manufacture them so are probably supplying the other places as well. Don't get me wrong, I have bought lots from sjs but their refusal to drop postage costs for small individual items annoys me a lot. £7.50 postage whether the part is 50p or £50 is a bit much.

If your in the UK and only buying this then your probably correct, but VAT and UK delivery cost are only a concern if you are located in the UK.

With the original poster being in New Zealand, buying from SJS (or other Lotus vendor) to combine with few other parts may make sense when paying for international shipping.

Might be also worth looking at https://lotusmarques.com/ being based in Australia might have lower costs than buying in UK or US.

Another thumbs up for Stage1. I bought one of their plates recently, and it is a perfect fit.
