Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Hello All,

I am gathering parts to carry out a home rebuild of my +2 5 speed gearbox (Original Lotus). Do any of you have a list of the bearings used with reference numbers? I can then start getting together the necessary parts prior to pulling it out of the car. Any advice on where to go for things like baulk rings would also be welcome. I recently bought a new old stock Maxi baulk ring for third gear off e-bay which was a good find, but I'm sure I'll need more!!

Hi John,

Thank you very much for the excellent information. I'm fairly computer and web-literate but I have to admit that I'm struggling with the search function on the site, seems I'm finding more stuff by googling which provides links to the Elan site. Ah, well, I'll persevere!

The info is superb, really appreciated. Reading the article it talks of an uprated input shaft bearing, is that what is on your list?
