Should I just install a five speed and be done with it?

Good morning - reseal as in gaskets and seals that keep the oil inside the gearbox.

Part of the issue is that the technician who did the work subsequently moved out of state and is this no longer an employee of the local shop that did the work.

I am going to speak with the shop owner today and will update this based on what I find out.

Thanks for the explanation of reseal, and as others have said taking the top cover off to change the gasket could well have resulted in two gears being selected at the same time.
