If like me you object to high prices for mundane parts, then you may like this.

I didn't fancy paying £27 for this clutch hose (£18.50 plus VAT plus Delivery) so spent a little while searching for the alternatives.

The hose is 445mm O/A with 3/8" x 24 UNF ends. I figured it had to from a British car of 60's/70's vintage, and given the overall length, a larger vehicle.

Turns out this is a front brake hose from an early Jaguar XJ and/or late 4.2 and V12 E-Type. OEM numbers as follows:

OEN C30755 — DAIMLER
OEN C0013182 — JAGUAR
OEN C0030752 — JAGUAR
OEN C0030755 — JAGUAR
OEN C11922 — JAGUAR
OEN C30755 — JAGUAR
OEN JLM9702 — JAGUAR

This from Parts in Motion on eBay (who I've used many times for parts for my 'moderns') is a bit more acceptable at £8.84 DELIVERED Also available from the many classic Jaguar suppliers

Good find....My only caution would be to ensure that the male flare on the end is fully compatible with the female flare you are screwing on to it. There can be different variations used on different makes of car...The angle of the flare etc.
