Help with Lotus 5 speed gearbox.

I have run into problems with the stripping of my Lotus 5 speed gearbox fitted to my Sprint.I live in France and only have an exploded diagram to work from,as I cannot get a copy of the 5 speed addendum section for the Lotus 5 speed gearbox.(currently out of stock from Lotus!)I have partially dismantled the gearbox,removed bellhousing,front cover,rear tailshaft section,top cover and selector shaft assemblies and 5th gear. The problems started when I tried to remove the input shaft/1st motion shaft,as it fouls the opposing gear on the layshat cluster assembly.I assume that I need to remove the layshaft from the rear of the box partially,in order to remove the layshaft cluster? Being a very early gearbox (no
from a historical car,I really do not want to proceed without further advice.Can anyone either send me a copy of the required workshop manual section,or could they give me some advice on how to proceed with the stripdown.Any help provided would be most gratefully recieved.
