Checking the gearbox before re-installing the engine

Personally, I would not restore a car based on the answers and comments from the armature comments on any forum. It would not satisfy any safety requirement to say, a man on the internet told me.

Are you located in the USA or the UK?

Here, in Dayton Ohio, one of our local transmission shops will take in your transmission and check it for you for a nominal charge.

They even do transaxles for my Lotus Europa.
