Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Does anyone have a part number (National, SKF etc) for the input shaft seal (late gearbox, 1.0625" ID)? I had ordered a gasket set and seals for the gearbox in my car, but neglected to actually measure the input shaft, and as it turns out I ordered the wrong seal. I'm hoping to source one locally so that I can button the gearbox up next weekend an potentially put the motor and gearbox back in the chassis.

If your seal ID is 1.0625, then the OD should be 1.625 (1 5/8) x .250, Timken part # 471651 or 100128188, not sure but its one or the other!
