Well it's good to know I'm not alone! In a way I'm glad it all happened as the new gearbox is much better, plus it's a pretty good asthetic upgrade and who doesn't love one of those.

What, you didn't like the "rust and caked on road grit and oil that leaked from my rope seal" look? What blasphemy...

Or maybe it's just my car that has that look :lol:

Ah you should have seen where I started. Engine and gearbox leaked like sieves, and no shortage of battle scars including an off road excursion during a Tasmanian holiday a few years back.

I failed to listen to the advice about not lending cars or girlfriends to mates. Luckily my girlfriend at the time steered well clear!

I've been putting some miles on the Elan in the last 3 weeks and working through the list of adjustments and tweaks.

I took the opportunity to take a couple of pics in Daylesford today. Not much sunshine or warmth when I was there, but still lots of smiles and a nice backdrop.
