Mitchell Cotts MT75 gearbox?

I'm investigating whether a Mitchell Cotts version of the MT75 gearbox (the one without the integral bell-housing) would fit in my Caterham Seven, but don't seem to be able to find anyone that supplies them. I've tried Mitchell Cotts themselves, who have been so far unresponsive, seeing as they seem to be fitted to some Elans, I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knows of a source either new or second-hand.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I don't think they make them any more. Morgan stopped using them in about 2012/13. I'm not sure who else used them. I had one in a Morgan and the main issue for me was the ratios. First being quite low and top a bit high. They had the Transit gear set in them. The Ford MT75 was available with better ratios in.
You do see them come up second hand from time to time.
Cheers
John

Thanks for the info, that would explain why they're hard to find.

Hi

What engine are you hoping to bolt the box onto?

Surely look no further than a Caterham 6 speed box?

I had one with my K Seven and the ratios were just superb and suited the K's rev happy nature. In fact ISTR the box was developed specifically to suit the peaky nature of the K

I can't disagree but my reason for looking at the MT75 is the synchromesh reverse, as I'm starting to autotest
