Hi,
I went to the auto performance shop for some Redline diff oil and saw that they have 2 diff. oils now, one is the 75W90 GL5 and another one 75W90NS (NON-SLIP) GL-5. I asked what the difference was and they said contains extreme pressure additives like our 75W90 GL-5 oil, but lacks friction modifiers to balance slipperiness. On the instructions in back of the NS oil bottle they recommended it for high power cars Porsche BMW etc.. Which would be best for a lotus Elan diff?..

Thanks,
Lou

NS means its got special friction modifiers added to eliminate clutch chatter when a vehicle is fitted with a limited slip differential. This oil can also be used with non-LSD differentials without a problem but is no better than the standard type in this application. Oil without the "NS" specification should not be used in LSD type differentials that use multi plate clutches.

Thank you very much for the info. I will stick to the regular Redline 75W90 for the diff if possible..
