with annotations of "slop",fulcrums and play etc etc but couldn't get a decent copy
But as you can see it has rubber in the gearlever 1 and also a ball socket ( and recently seen some bad examples ) then through a saddle 8 , via 3 to a ball and socket , this then moves the finger 12 in the cutout 14 ( which is pivoted ) , eventually coming out at the bottom to operate rod 23 and either 27 ( 5th gear ) or via another cut-out and finger 22 and 25 to operate 24 ( the reverse selector ).
The spring we're looking at at the moment is between parts 23 and 24 on the diagram.
Someone at Lotus put in a lot of overtime to sort that lot out.....
