Has anyone converted their Lotus 5 speed gearshift attachment, normally threaded, to the Type 9
attachment which is a plate that screws down with either three or four screws? It seems it would
be much easier for stick removal / replacement with the bolt down type verses the screw in type.

I suspect access to the mounting screws, especially the left ones, would be an issue with the gearbox mounted in the car. So probably wouldn't work.
Interested to know gear stick options, especially in the US, as the plastic lower ball on mine had gone soft and is crumbling away. Still works at the minute but needs something doing about it.
