I'm currently modifying a 4 speed gearbox mount bracket to fit my Lotus 5 speed. Mount should simply
be turned 180 degrees. When bolted up however, I think the gearbox sits too low. I've read that this
mount is a good alternative but it looks like it may not be totally correct.

I'm looking for the dimension of the gearbox shifter 'box' from the frame. Mine measures 1 3/16 inches.

To determine I'm too low, I measured the level of the block (of which I have a picture) with the car
on the ground. The frame is level, at this point.

A 'level' measurement of the block now, with the Lotus 5 speed and turned around 4 speed mount, shows
the block to be slanted too much downward at the rear.

So, if someone could take a measurement as shown in the pic, I'd appreciate it.

The stock 4 speed gearbox bracket with stock gearbox mount is to be used with spacers (about half inch tall) when supporting a 4 speed gearbox : would that be about the amount you need your gearbox up? When I fitted mine, I had a 5 speed bracket I used, so kept the stock 4 speed setup in storage just in case, and did not confront your issue...

Just been in the shed to check,and the four speed and five speed mountings are the same height..

Hmm, interesting, John. Makes sense, because I think the 5 speed tailshaft was cast in such a way
to do away with the spacers.

Anyway, I need about 3/8 inch to get the angle of the drivetrain to where I think its correct. I'll just
shim it unless I can get a dimension like my pic showing the same.
