How to stick down my gaiter

Lotus elan plus 2 5 speed gaiter....
How do I stick it down to the tunnel ???

I had one of these fitted to my previous Plus 2, which was a four speed, and it was simply attached by the bottom rib being pushed through the console. If I remember correctly there were 4 ribs, the fourth one going through the hole. Wether this is how it should be I can't say... There are only 3 ribs visible in your picture, maybe the bottom one has been cut off?

Mine (also four-speed) only has three ribs but then has a flat bit on the surface and some sort of retaining piece underneath. It's off the car now so I've just snapped some pics but need to run out the door in a moment so I'll upload them in 20 or 30 minutes. Stay tuned...

Hefe's what I've got. I'm quite certain that it's stock, seeing how painfullyneglected this car was for most of its life.

^ That's a four speed gaiter and they attach differently to the 5 speed. The four speed has two square plates, one above that's chrome with pins on and one below and they sandwich the centre console.

What I meant in my previous post was that I had a four speed car that came fitted with a 5 speed gaiter, which I removed.
