plus 2 drive shafts

PostPost by: gino1 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 10:15 pm

I've just posted a search for some drive shafts but i'm having second thoughts as i think i may have the correct drive shafts but unaware! I have drive shafts with a UJ joint on one side ( flat plate) and the three eared attachment on a sliding joint on the other side and am just missing a rotoflex coupling..can someone please clear up this doubt i have ?
Also which side does the flat plate uj joint fit ?
Thanks

Gino,
That sounds much like the old style Spyder units my car had before I stripped it.
The UJ was outboard, Rotoflex at the diff end.

I had a set of these on my last Plus 2, I believe they were either made by Spyder or Performance Unlimited.

The Spyder equivalent now uses one doughnut and a CV joint outboard

Sorry for the thread hijack but, i see the propshaft has been in contact with the chassis where it goes through the closing plate? Just like mine when i stripped it... Worried me at the time that the diff was somehow misfitted then, with the new chassis i had to dress the flange slightly to make sure there was adequate clearance!

If you mean that sort of line around the prop its more likely where it rubbed when I moved the chassis about with no gearbox in and so drooped down in the tunnel.
But I really cant remember as it was about 6 years ago now and its still in bits! :(
