Quick question replacing shifter

PostPost by: dgym » Wed Dec 09, 2015 1:30 am

Hi all,
I've just gotten myself an original gearlever to replace my shortened one. Am I able to do the change with the gearbox in-situ? Just remove the interior cover and the four bolts holding the top cover on and do the swap? Or does it get more involved then that?
Cheers!

Also will have a shortened shifter for sale afterwards.

You should be able to easily unscrew the cap that secures the shift to the top of the cover and swap the shifters. Getting at the 4 bolts may be a challenge to change over the whole cover with the gearbox in situ.

If just changing the stick, there's no need to pull the cover. Just unscrew the spring loaded 'hat' and swop
out., or am I missing something here?

thanks guys, that was unexpectedly simple. I had hoped to get home, go to the shed and make the switch, it took minutes!
