Hi
Does anyone have a 2 seat Elan propshaft out of the car so they can measure the length between the UJ's please.
Also diameter of the cups and distance to outsides of cross.

Perfect! What's the width of a brick? Might be different in UK vs US.

in case it helps (metric I'm afraid, so give or take half a mm) here are some photos of mine, off a '68 s4se :

: 68 S4 4 speed driveshaft

: 68 S4 4 speed driveshaft length 570.5mm

: 68 S4 4 speed driveshaft Ujoint 68.5mm

: 68 S4 4 speed driveshaft flange 92mm

: 68 S4 4 speed driveshaft inner 57mm

Those bricks are 6.2 cm wide. Excluding the mortar between bricks and 21.3 cm long.

2.56 cm per inch. gives 2.34 inches by 8.32 inches long

I have a prop shaft out of my 1968 S4. If mnauduit has not answered your questions I could take some measurements for you.

Also, I believe in this orientation it's the brick height/depth that is in question.

I can offer that standard gauge railroad tracks have the same spacing on both sides of the pond, at a nice 4 feet 8 1/2 inches, or 1435 millimeters. Perhaps we should measure up a driveshaft or two in those.

Dunno about that but they are genuwine ENGINEERING bricks.
