Hi Guys.
Here is an interesting video I would like to share with you.
The video shows the complete change over process from roto flex to elantrikbits CVDS, this professional quality
video provides an insight into what is involved and how easy it is to do.

Thank you Col, that music is a tad out of place though :?

The very nice production was done in the UK, I think the music is fitting... better than head banging rock music, or some other trashy sound.

Too bad the product has such a bad reputation.

What do you mean Mr Gale? How then do we have so many CVDS satisfied customers?

Peter Boita, a happy customer, sent this video to me showing my knockoff spinner tool in action, along with a plug for my Website. knockoffspinnertool.com
A well done video. I wish I could have seen it when I converted mine to CVs. It could have saved me a long bloody learning curve. Thanks again Peter.

I presume you are referring to Keith's comments on vintage technology garage.? Which I think are the only critical comments I have heard from anyone so "such a bad reputation" is a little much I think.

I don't want to buy into a debate / dispute between Keith and Col..... both of who i consider friends and both who are passionate and dedicated long term Elan owners and suppliers of high technology improvements that make the cars more reliable and usable in a modern world and I use both Keith's Weber hypo jets / emulsion tubes and Cols drive shafts.

For what its worth in relation to this specific topic all i will say is that the Elantrikbits CV kit is as good as any and probably better than most I have seen - just my personal opinion.

cheers

OK, I admit my ignorance.

Now drive shafts I understand. Big metal bits that twirl around.

But, assuming it is not a Klingon warp drive / worm hole device, what is a "Weber hypo jet / emulsion tube" and why should I consider acquiring a set?

Keith Franck makes replacement jets and emulsion tubes for Webers that eliminate most of the performance and tractability problems with the standard items by maintaining a much more constant air:fuel ratio over the full rev and throttle opening range. With them my Plus 2S 130/5 will pull smoothly from 1500 rpm in 5th gear.

Have a look at the sidedraft_central yahoo group site that he runs for discussion on what he has developed. Also lots of other info on carbs.

Keith used to post here but left after a few altercations with members as happens from time to time unfortunately

cheers

Cheers, I shall look him up. That could be useful if my current plans come to fruition.

I thought all 130/5 had dellortos.

I converted my 130/5 to Webers as I had a spare set and I wanted to use Keiths jets.

Have Webbers and Keith jetting in my 130/5 too. Not on the road yet so hard to tell how good the setup is.
