Hi,
The standard gearlever for the 5 speed lotus gearbox appears to be partly responsible for the vague feel in the gearchange. Is there any reason that a solid gearlever, without the rubber inserts cannot be fabricated and used?

John,
Do you mean a gearlever with or without rubber?

Gear lever without rubber..improves "feel" no extra vibration...

John,
thanks for the reply. Did you modify the standard gearstick or use a different stick. If a modified original how did you do it?
thanks,
Mick.

You can use a piece of steel or I think I picked up a "quickshift " kit and binned the other parts, there is a grub screw on the other side...

John,

Thanks for the pictures. That is exactly what I was thinking of doing. The rubber joint allows quite a bit of flex so it's going to go

John,

I can see why you are 'happy' - things change when it's actually turning !
