My 69 Elan Differential has LOTUS and 26R 004 cast into the back.

Yes it is, looks like the drive shafts are aftermarket CV's.

Yes, I would confirm that
My 67 S3 has A 26 R004 on the ally casting

The service parts list does show the differential housing part number as A026 R 004...
