Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

I'm attempting to use a different transmission and in the process of doing so would like to use the speedo angle drive. In this installation, the speedo angle drive is shortened. I've added a couple of pics that depict what needs to be done. What I don't know, is how to shorten the speedo angle drive. Does anyone know how to do this or maybe has performed this action in the past? Can anyone help me out and teach this old guy something new?
