i have a '72 plus 2 and have lost track of the drive shaft. i'm interested in a used one if there is one out there looking for a home. if that doesn't work, i need to know how to describe the ends to talk to a fabricator. what is the spline count and configuration on the transmission end and the bolt pattern on the outboard end? where did the transmission (4 spd) come from that is supplied with a '72 elan +2? any other words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
regards to all who are afflicted with a lotus in their life.

Props come up regularly in the UK on eBay, but not sure about the US.

The box is known as the 2000e, originally from the Corsair in the UK, but used on a variety of Fords, such as the sporting or luxury variants of Cortina, early Escort, etc. If buying a replacement or parts be careful as there were a few variants of Ford boxes in this era, with differing input shaft diameters (early and later), gear stick positions and single vs 3 rail selectors.

There should be some used OEM propshafts around from various engine/gearbox transplants. We have the slip yokes and U joint flanges if you need to have a propshaft made. Where are you located ?

If it was me I'd locate a cortina propshaft of the era and have a new shaft made up using both ends
