Speedo right angle drive

I had to pull the engine/gearbox due to oil leaking from the bell housing, so I have a couple of things to address.
First issue is what sealer is recommended to put on the one through bolt gearbox to bell housing?
I also find that I don't have an O ring on the speedo drive but my parts book has a poor copy of the page F10 which shows the O ring part#FA38. Can anyone send me a photocopy of that page which is readable?
What I can see it looks like the O ring goes between the gearbox & the alloy spacer piece but the O ring I have been sent seems to big. Can anyone explain where it goes?

Hi Keith,

The image here shows the O ring #38 and it's relationship to the rest of the drive, but I don't know if it's any better than what you have already ?

The O ring sits in a groove in the aluminium gear housing. Found this image on the net...not the Elan (Ford) box I don't think but the principle is the same

There is another gasket marked marked 40 on the attached scan, but it's not terribly clear. I have a S2 workshop manual that shows the part more clearly, I can scan it if you're interested.

That would be helpful. There are two aluminium parts which threw me 39 & 41. I didn't realize at first that 39 was a separate part. I guess that there are no gaskets or O rings outboard of 39.

If you can download the scan from the '66 parts list (S1, 2 and Coupe) and enlarge it, I think the part you're looking for is listed as item 21 - PN E316-NE-1 Gasket (speedometer cable).
