jack-shaft gear lock tab needed?

is the jackshaft gear locking tab that locks the two gear's bolts needed, or will loctite suffice?

I haven't tried Loctite on that application and wouldn't want to rely solely on it. The implications of those bolts working loose! :shock:

No doubt it has been tried...but note that it's described as a "retainer" for both the sprocket and dowel.

New one is a couple of quid from Burton - its not worth not fitting one. If you can't get a new one then its ewasy enought to make one.
