What's going on with this gearstick?

It is almost certainly a T9 conversion done without moving the gear lever forward.

Cheap for a Matty car ...

I assume the gearstick bursting through the centre console like an alien is not the only problem

'67? , '68? Appears to be an S3 with S4 features or is it an S4 with S3 features? :?

I believe this was the car which was an S4 rebodied as an S3 after it was vandalised in the 70's, so the registration is correct. Not sure about the toggle switches though and if they were original or also fitted then. I think that's a really good pricefor it and it would make a really nice project for someone.
