So why do we continue to group the Elan as one?

Type 26, type 36 and type 45

Of which there are multiple models of SE, SS, Sprint some with round arches and others with a squared off arch. I guess if you think that they are all the same you haven't read enough here or in the books that have been written.

I expect the same replies that fly off the fingertips of the members

I think it goes back to simple history. Sort of like women, ....there are blondes, brunetts, redheads, etc but they're all women.

You bring up a good point although it wasn't too long ago I saw an Elan with squared wheel arches in the rear and rounded ones up front. What would we do with that? What's really important is for everyone to learn the best is the S2 SE.

Yes we all have our opinions of which is best and what LOOKS best to ME.

Just think its time to face the fact having a couple of sections that offer up the differences between that of the "they are all built like that" section and a difference sections for the said models and variants such as the Sprint. Same with the S1 to S2 differences, Just seems like we may actually grow the forum if folks thought they could "easily", "Where the hell is the search box anyway"? find stuff.

Anyway not about whats the best Elan crap, they are all good at making smiles.

I think Tim posted some stats awhile ago about the percentage of members to CLES of

25% type50
25% S4 and Sprint
20% S3
8% S2
7% S1

seems about the same here on Elan.net

So are you suggesting separate Type 26, 36 and 45 (or something similar) areas on the forum?

If you are I respectfully suggest that's not a good idea. It would just complicate matters and make searching more difficult.

FWIW, I think the current system on the forum is logical and works well.
