Loose Release Bearing

At the time I though the bearing had been correctly fitted i.e. not rotating on its carrier, but I am pretty sure now that the bearing is a loose fit on the carrier. This is enough for the bearing to rattle faintly until the clutch pedal is pressed enough to take up the free play. I can stop the noise for a few months by squirting some white lithium grease onto the bearing/carrier away from the clutch end and towards the lever arm. This is done though the bell housing hole by removing the level arm gaiter.
This situation has lasted for 15000 miles, but the carrier must be slowly wearing. Can anyone think of a way of providing enough "stiction" to stop the bearing rotating (I have not tried my off the wall solution in the post yet). Something liquid in a spray that dries really tacky might do it.
I do not have any other reason to pull the engine at the moment, hence the keyhole approach.
