Hi everyone can anyone help with the following as I am new to Elans -

The diff on a +2 looks for all the world like an Escort English axle item = is it.

What is the base gearbox for the +2 5 speed - doesn't look like any Ford I have seen before.

Correct, it is; the diff' was used in a wide variety of earlier Fords including the Escort.

The 5 speed gearbox is a Lotus specific part, it does however use British Leyland internals.
