Crankshaft spigot bearing

Morning!
Can anybody advise me on how to remove the spigot bearing from the end of the crank, before I take it to the local engine machine shop? Crank currently on my workbench.
I have tried the grease and clutch alignment tool method suggested by Miles Wilkins without success.

Thanks

Martin B

Martin,

They are surpisingly easy to remove simply by levering out.
Remove the seal which will leave a nice ledge for a screwdriver to locate.
It may be easier to use two screwdrivers to lever at 180 degrees.

I use a slide hammer with fingers for grabbing the bearing ID. With the roller bearing style spigot bearing it takes a bit of cursing and moments of meditation but it will come out.

Why not just let the machine shop pop it off?

You are going to replace it before reassembly, right?
