Spigot Bearing

Can anyone tell me how to remove the needle roller spigot bearing from the end of the crankshaft without resorting to destroying it. I have a new one but I would like to remove the old one without resorting to brutal means.

Find a piece of bar the same size as the spigot,fill the bearing hole with grease,"whack" the bar into the bearing,the resultant pressure should force the old bearing out....

Can I assume that the spigot on the end of the clutch alignment tool would do the jab as well then?

Yes,that should be no problem as long as you don't mind maybe "peening" over the end of the tool by not "whacking " it straight with your hammer.
A cloth covering it may prevent you being sprayed with grease...

This method works great on a standard bronze bearing. I did not have such good luck doing it this way with a needle bearing because rather than pressurize the rear of the bearing, the grease would escape through the needle rollers. Let us know if it worked for you.

Thanks for the advice, I need to find a piece of rod the correct size. I can't use the alignment tool from Bean's as it is plastic also they sent me the wrong bearing [bronze but also the wrong size]. Do any of you have a bearing # for the needle roller bearing?

I got the bearing out using the grease method, now all I have to do is find a replacement.
