Differential Mounting Bolts

Hi All

I have had a problem with the diff mouting bolts interfering with the fuel tank and (over quite some time (10 year +) causing a leak in the tank. Is there any reason why I should not have the mounting bolts (the ones that go through the centre of the mounting bush) changed round so that the bolts head is at the top and the nut is on the underside? This is different to how it is shown in the manual. It would provide additional clearance between the fuel tank and the bolt.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

On Elans they are the head up way, which is actually easier when removing the diff. but on the +2 it would mean removing the tank to withdraw the bolts before removing the diff.

Jim

Thanks, do you hapen to know what size bolts are used?

I already have the tank out so changing them round should not be difficult.

Andy

I've just replaced mine and the ones that came out are 3.75", 3/8 UNF.
