How do I Fit CV type half shafts to Elan S4?

Hi,
I am new to the forum and own a 1970 Elan S4, I had a Rotoflex coupling break on me a few weeks back and decided to replace them with the Cv joint type half shafts supplied by Paul Matty Sports cars.
Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to fit these, as with the bolts already fitted in place on the new shafts the space is now to short to fit the new shafts in!
I have been struggling to line the bolts to the holes but have not found an easy way to do this with the shaft being to long for the space available.
If anyone can help put me out of my misery I would geatly appreciate it :?

Would unbolting the A-frame help?

Might sound like a silly answer but you haven't got the +2 shafts which are longer

Yes, you are going to need to release the A frame to allow for fitting.

I released the top mounting (lotocone) on my car but the body was off at the time :)

Also make sure that the shaft splines are fully slid in so that the shaft is as short as possible.

I found one side on mine very easy but the other was a bit tight and needed a bit of persuasion with a hammer and block of wood.

Others on the forum have said that they needed to relieve the holes in the shafts for a bit more clearance but it wasn't needed on mine - just plenty of copaslip.

They will fit :) and once fitted are peachy
