Engine Height relation to body 1966 S3 FHC(webers)

Hi Richard and all others following this,
I have come to the same conclusion as you, and have removed the mountings to enlarge the 2 3/8" holes so engine height can be slide adjusted using serrated washers to lock into position on either side of the mountings plates + high tensile bolts that should give me over 10mm clearance, and my rear carb stud should have 30mm clearance to the top of the footwell. (currently 40mm)
It will be some time before I start the engine as the car is undergoing total restoration, but any changes I make are reversible.
