That's good info and makes maybe a more modern aproach with a nitrile/rubber seal.
For the crank Lip Seal the only thing i can see different is Red or Black+ a very big difference in price

One more tid bit. Check that the spring inside the lip seal is "screwed" together. If not you will get a leak!

By the looks of things there is a strong possibility that the Ford KA rear seal might fit. The Valencia/Endura-E engine is a cousin of the Kent engine but crank bearing sizes, bore sizes, etc. are all different. I know the timing chain is the same as the Kent even though it's under a different part number but not sure about anything else.

Think I might head down to a Ford dealer to see if they have one. The Endura-E engine has only been obsolete for around 12 years versus 36 years for the crossflow so hopefully won't get any laughs when I ask !!

Just got the Flywheel back from skimming and a nice job was done.
I've ordered a new Starter Ring so things will be 100%.

New ring Gear fitted but not so easy. I didn't see that the old ring gear which was the original had deformed the Flywheel. This had increased the location dia a small amount on the unused part.
I would suggest that when replacing the ring gear that the unused part is chamfered to give a lead in location for the ring gear (at 300?C?).
I put the Ring Gear in the Oven 280? maximum and the Flywheel in the Chest Freezer.
I still had to use a drift and a big hammer to locate the Ring gear 8)

Not much help now but others may not be aware, there are two sizes of 110 tooth ring gears both for inertia starter, a 10.048 and a 10.167 inch.
I have had a ring gear come off in the past so this time I had it tacked brazed in 3 spots, who designed a fitment were the starter action is to pull the gear off!!

+1 100% correct. The Starter tries to pull the Ring gear off the Flywheel and not against the location shoulder.
Not at all logic but for the modern starters maybe it's good , designing for the future evolution
